Books and Teapigs

Teapigs2As you will have noticed, we’ve been running a promotion with our good friends at teapigs. So every time you order from World of Books, you receive a free cuppa. Our customers can also take advantage of a special promotion, using the discount code Teaandbooks you can get 20% off at teapigs.co.uk. So if you enjoyed your free sample, you can now pick up more for less through their online store.

Anyway, we asked the nice people at teapigs if they would like to tell us more about what they do for our customers and here’s what they had to say.

Nick and Louise started teapigs in November 2006. They met whilst working for a really big tea company, where they learned all about tea and drank lots of it. And the more they learned, and the more they drank, the more they came to realise something: that there’s a whole world of quality teas out there that simply aren’t getting the attention they deserve. And so teapigs was born.

Nick describes himself as a tea evangelist (although much nicer than those shouty ones on American TV). Louise, an experienced tea taster who has travelled the world tasting teas, is a self-confessed tea addict (not seeking rehab).

Teapigs1At teapigs, we make a big thing about using quality real tea. By quality real tea, we mean whole leaf tea, whole leaf herbs and whole flowers. It’s all about the flavour! The tea in regular tea bags has been squashed, chopped and manhandled so, by the time it reaches your cup, almost all the flavour is lost. We don’t think that’s very nice. The whole leaves, herbs and flowers in our tea temples have been handled gently and with love, to maintain every drop of that precious flavour.

And what could make this tea even better? Drinking it with a good book of course! We love to read at teapigs hq; here’s a few of our favourites:
Juliana: Everything is illuminated
Sofia: God of Small Things
Amy: Remains of the Day
Nick: 1984
Becky: To Kill a Mockingbird
Tori: Please Mrs Butler
Rosie: The Man in the High Castle
Hayley: On the Road

Thanks a million to World of Books for including our tea samples in their orders, you’re helping spread our real tea message! Now, on with the kettle.
